A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words

In this photo you can see a beautiful flower, the image was shot in Horcón, Elqui Valley in 2011. I took the photo with a normal camera (it isn't professional) when i was on holidays with my big family.

Honestly i can't talk you about the technical characteristics of the photo because i don't know so much about the theme but i will tell you more about the flower's image.

It's a long history but i'm gonna try to shorten it for you :)
2011 was a wonderfull year, because i was accepted in the Universidad de Chile but in an ecologist carreer, that's the reason why i was interested in flowers, plants and nature. In the 2011's holidays i was so excited for my new carreer that i began to photograph all the nature of the place.

When i saw the flower, i knew that the photo would be awesome.
Actually, each time i see the image, i remember those times when i enjoyed the nature and, most importantly, when i was with dear people, who now is gone.

Anyway, i love this image because the day i took the photo was a reeaaaaaally good day. Now in this photo, i can see peace, love, nature, and many moments of that day.

Favorite books

"A Song of Ice and Fire"

Game of Thrones (a tv-series) is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire written by George R.R Martin. I knew the series and the books in 2011 when Game of Thrones premiered on HBO.

The story of the books (and the tv series) is about a war amoung a several families for the throne. Furthermore it is the threat of the cold monsters, and the Daenerys Targaryen trip who try to fight for the throne with her three dragons.

You should know about this series because is really famous around the world. The characters are the best because each one is special, there isn't a tipical bad or good guy, and before you knows it, they die. That's awful because two of my favourite characters are dead.

I must be honest, i haven't read all the books because i want to be surprised by each chapter of the tv series. So every sunday i see Game of Thrones just as excited as the rest. If you read all the books: NO SPOILERS PLEASE.

The books are really cool because the story is exciting, the characters are intriguing and the most important thing is that in the tv series there is an actor that is chilean! His name is Pedro Pascal and he's very handsome. So i recommend Game of Thrones (the books and the tv-series), to all you, to my family and to all my friends.

If you want to start to see the tv-series is very easy: you have to watch HBO every sunday at 22:00.
If you want to read the books (you should be!), i have the second book of the saga so i can lend it. In internet are all the books and in the libraries you can buy it too.

I must ask, do you prefer read the books or see the tv-series?

Little Netbook

Hi!!! This post is about my favourite piece of technology.

I was born in 1992, so the technology is an important part of my life. In 1998 we had a computer in the house, but it was veeery slooooooooooooow.
Later, in 2011 my dad gave to me a present (because I was accepted at the Universidad de Chile): My first netbook.

My netbook is really beautiful, it’s white and small and has a little sticker of a pink dog (see the pic!) that I bought in La Serena.

Honestly, i think that never sleeps. When I get home the first thing I do is go to my bedroom and open it. I can do the homework, watch tv series, read books, and the best part: facebook, twitter, etc… It’s perfect! When I need any information, is the most willing to help me. (Please don’t judge me for give it human characteristics haha!)

Whatever, my little and white netbook it’s essential but I must confess that lately it is very slow, and I can’t open many windows at the same time. I can’t listen to music too. Okey, I have to accept that it’s old and is dying :'( .

So, if my netbook dies, I die too. Haha! Naah Probably i would despair for a while and that’s all. I have a computer so I would use it but I hope that never happen.

I must confess that this post i didn't do in my netbook so probably i'm a traitor. I'm sorry, netbook!

I love dogs!

Expectations

Hi!
This week i have to write about my expectations for a new semester.
Right now i'm doing the 3th semester of AP (Public Administration) and that's why the subjects are more difficult.
My subjects are: Administrative law, Administrative theory, Science theory, Applied Statistics, English III and Micro-economics. Honestly i don't have a favorite one.
Moreover ¿would you want to know why i don't like Administrative law? because my teacher usually arrives too late or he just doesn't go. That's really sad :(

In my last post i told you about my salsa lessons, well those are all my activities. In my university i'm not taking extracurricular subjects. So you can say: that's reeeeally boring haha!.

In summary my time is occupied by dance classes, university classes, friends and the most important part of my life: sleep, i LOVE sleep.

In this academic period i expect to learn a lot. I hope to finish this year speaking english just like my teacher (naaaah that's imposible) and i want to approve every signature with goods grades (especially in english :D).

That's all everyone!, enjoy your day and have fun!

My name is Paula.

Hi everyone!
First i want to clarify that i'm not the best english student in my class but i will endeavour in this post.
I was born in Los Andes, Chile on the 6th of august, 1992. But in 1993 my parents moved to Santiago (the capital of my country).
I reeeeally like Santiago but honestly? is a chaotic place and that's why La Serena is my favorite city
. Moreover, in La Serena was born my little sister on 23th December, 2002.
My mom, my sister, my brother and other family members lives in La Serena and that's why i have to travel every month to be with them.
I completed high school in "Alicante del Sol" in 2010 and laaaater in 2013 (it's a long story) i was accepted at the Universidad de Chile where i'm studing Public Administration right now.
Now i live in Santiago with my dad and my grandmother. I have a lot of responsibilities in the house but "imposible is nothing".
Hobbies??? mm i'm not an athletic person but recently i'm taking salsa and bachata lessons. It's a lot of fun and i have to go every friday and saturday.

Oh! and my blog's name is obviously because i don't have a middle name and my english teacher (Nicholas Gunn) teached me how to say it. Why i don't have a middle name? because my parents didn't like others names. That's the reason why i named Carla to my sister, and my brother's name is Manuel, just like my father, reeeeally original right? ha ha!!

The Elqui Valley skies are one of the most wonderful in the world!
